Texas Ebola exposure being underestimated, second nurse infected

 

Ebola is here and if you read "The Atlanta Collective" you knew it was destined to arrive on the shores of the United States. Systemic failures in Public Health pathogen control has exposed at least 78 healthcare workers to the virus with two confirmed infections. The first confirmed infection was Nina Pham, who was part of the care team that treated Thomas Eric Duncan, who died from the disease at Texas Presbyterian Hospital . Now the hospital has announced that a second nurse, Amber Joy Vinson, has tested positive for the virus and has been hospitalized. Full Article

Police face no charges for burning toddler

Bounkham Phonesavanh, also known as Baby Bou Bou, is a toddler that was injured in a botched SWAT raid in Habersham County, Georgia in May of this year. Police threw a flash bang grenade into the room the family was sleeping in and it landed in the baby’s crib. CDC ADMITS "COULD HAVE DONE MORE" ON EBOLA

The head of the CDC, Thomas Frieden, issued a shocking statement to media on Tuesday, admitting that the CDC failed in its initial response to the Ebola Crisis in America. Apparently the CDC did not have an onsite team at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, where Thomas Eric Duncan was being treated for Ebola at the time of his initial treatment.
